the wake of
the
national priorities on food and minerals, marine research
interests have multiplied of late. The conservation of
coastal environment in order to balance the anthropogenic
stress on it is also of simultaneous interest to marine
scientists. The relevance of marine environment to the
society is enhanced and modern methodology of ocean explo-
-ration are being appreciated. In this background, Marine
Sciences Division of IIRS has been offering training
courses, R&D opportunities and consultancy services on
coastal processes and marine sciences covering many lead
topics such as coastal zone management, sediment dynamics,
air-sea interaction, biodiversity, physical processes,
geomorphology and bathymetry. |
