Human Settlement Analysis

Human Settlement Analysis Group of IIRS was established in 1983 with the collaboration of ITC, Enschede, The Netherlands, to meet the growing need and challenges of population explosion in this part of globe. It has developed expertise in the field of infrastructure planning, urban environment analysis, population study and regional analysis. It works in close contact with city and district administration and aims to spread the benefits of remote sensing technology at grass-root level.

1. Urban sprawl Mapping & Monitoring for Delhi,Jaipur and Lucknow. Funding Agency: Dept. of Space, Govt. of India. Year: 1987

2. Integrated Land Resources Survey for Urban Environment – Rohini, Delhi.Funding Agency: IIRS-ITC Collaborative Fund and Logistic Support by Delhi Development Authority.Year: 1988

3. Small Formal Aerial Photography for Developing Municipal Information System – Haridwar. Funding Agency: IIRS - ITC Collaborative Fund, & Haridwar Development Authority, Haridwar.

4. Land use/ land cover Mapping of Noida.Funding Agency: Noida Development Authority. Year: 1995

5. Land use/ land Cover and its changes in part of Bardez Taluka, Goa. Funding Agency:Town & Country Planning Deptt., Govt. of Goa. Year: 1994.

6. Land use/ land cover Mapping of Greater Noida- using RS & GIS. Funding Agency: Greater Noida Authority. Year: 1998

7. Land use/ land cover Mapping and Growth profile- Jammu city using RS and GIS. Funding Agency: Jammu Development Authority
